it’s simply because we DON’T DO what we know (not because we DON’T KNOW what to do) – part 1

why we as an individual, organization and especially a society in Indonesia, not accomplish what we aim to achieve?

it is NOT because we DON’T KNOW what to do, but because we DON’T DO what we know.

here are some examples of the Common Sense which are NOT Common Practice in Indonesia, specific related to meeting ground rules:

  • start meeting on time
  • finish meeting on time
  • no side conversation
  • handphone silent
  • answer handphone outside meeting room
  • have a clear agenda for meeting
  • make and send a minutes of meeting (MOM)
  • follow up and execute action items

Those simple ground rules are sooooooo well known, but soooooooo rarely done into practice….

this is a great challenge for leaders and future leaders in Indonesia. Start to commit to do such simple things.

But,

simple does not always mean easy

  1. Mangar says:

I can attest that this is not specific to Indonesia, really frustrating.

  2. In a way, it is good to know that we are not “alone”🙂
